SafeNet Sentinel Green Initiatives
SafeNet shares the environmental concerns being raised regarding electronic products containing banned substances. We are committed to complying with applicable laws and regulations including the European Union's Directives 2002/95/EC , Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Directive 2002/96/EC, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
This page contains the following information regarding Green Initiatives for SafeNet Sentinel Hardware Keys:
RoHS Compliance
In May 2005, SafeNet was the first manufacturer of software protection keys to start shipping RoHS compliant keys to select customers. SafeNet is pleased to announce that effective August 1, 2005, we began phasing-in RoHS compliant products across all Sentinel hardware key product lines. We intend to have the entire phase-in process completed by December 31, 2005. This is well before the RoHS Directive requirement of July 1, 2006. To order RoHS compliant keys please look up your new part number and availability .
WEEE Compliance
The WEEE Directive requires all applicable products to be labeled with the official "Wheelie Bin" label by August 13, 2005. This label must be present on the product itself (if feasible), as well as technical manuals, warranties and product packaging. Although some Sentinel hardware keys are too small to accommodate the label, SafeNet has placed the label on the 25-pin parallel port keys and all other required locations in full compliance of this directive.
New Branding Graphics
At this time, we are also implementing an additional product change: new covers with the SafeNet brand. The following files contain graphics and dimensions of the new keys:
Material Declaration Forms
SafeNet assures you that the functionality and the high quality you have come to expect from our Sentinel hardware keys will not be affected by these important initiatives. You will see a part number and date-lot-code change to your Sentinel hardware key orders. SafeNet appreciates your cooperation during this phase-in process.
